Why this role matters In this role you will help design team to achieve its vision "To be the World's best Customer Consultancy Solution & Integration team" We enable BT to do good business, by focussing on three key areas: * To uplift our Customer Experience * To deliver Design Brilliance * To be Digital Leaders What you'll be doing * Lead and implement the design and development of network solutions for Data Centre Infrastructure areas. * Assists team members in transformation strategy for a network or technology discipline in own area of expertise * Leads complex DC/ Cloud infrastructure (network, storage and compute) design/implementation and migration. * Participate in work stream planning process, including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of network solutions Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve high severity issues or problems. * Create and review network schematics, diagrams, and other program documentation to assist with development and preparation of cost estimates, and review vendor proposals. * Develop capacity planning models and load-balancing/redundancy solutions. * Understand network requirements and provide High Level Design and Low Level Design. * Plans and execute complex Network Upgrades and Network Migration activities * Could lead on a specific deliverable of a medium/complex scale project within a work package * Lead the initiatives in looking for efficiencies in designs through use of patterns and templates, rather than bespoke requests * Drive standardization across hub to ensure operational procedures are in place, maintained and followed as appropriate * Should have strong desire to learn & catch up with new products, technologies & services in the field of data networking We'll also need to see these on your CV * Leadership of at least one area/domain a BT Technology portfolio product set * Provide Planning, Designing, and Implementation around Cisco / Juniper products and solutions. * Intermediate knowledge in Compute Technology Area (AD, Group Policy, SQL, Virtualisation etc.) * An understanding of Routing Protocols : EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, MP-BGP, Multicast, AnyCast, DSCP/QoS, EVPN, VxLAN, OTV. * Understanding on Load balancers like F5 * Understanding on Firewall (ASA/Checkpoint/Palo Alto/SRX) * Understanding of Secure VPN (i.e. IKE v2) * Understanding of Mobile Device Management (MDM) - i.e. Blackberry, Intune, Workspace One. * UCS/Virtualization, Python, JSON programming will be good to have. * Good awareness of the impact of Voice & Video (RTP) technologies on a Customer Infrastructure. * Knowledge of virtualisation tools and concepts Why choose us?
