Job Description
Summary of Role: Raytheon UK has an opportunity for an experienced Configuration Management practitioner to fulfil the role Configuration Engineer within the UK IT Transformation Programme. The role reports on the programme to the Programme Manager. The Configuration Engineer role is a hands-on delivery role, and accountable for quality of deliverables, and liaising with stakeholders, to successfully deliver the programme's business change outcomes. Raytheon UK is looking for a dynamic and high performing Configuration Management professional to maintain the Configuration Management for the IT Transformation Programme to support a fast moving schedule of software, hardware renewals. The role will require good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with multiple suppliers and stakeholders to confirm requirements and implementing disciplined Information Management practices. Main Duties Include: + Create and Maintain Configuration Management (CM) and Data management (DM) Plans, capture all relevant CM and DM requirements required by the programme + Administer Configuration and Data management in support of allocated company contracts in line with Raytheon Standard Processes and Practices, customer requirements as required by the relevant programme Security requirements + Ensure configuration and Data Management compliance with Military and commercially recognised standards where applicable + Support the programme by establishing and maintaining a regime for CM and DM with the customer and subcontractor reviews and regularly report on progress + Support Programme's technical team to correctly identify Hardware (HW) and Software (SW) Configuration items using a Raytheon recognized tool in a relational and hierarchical manner. + Maintain CM baselines of both HW and SW throughout the design lifecycle of products + Perform Data Management, Issues and Control programme artefacts including documentation control for Customer and Raytheon artefacts in a suitable Data Management repository in support of the business requirements + Archive, utilize Company and Programme specific repositories + Create, maintain and store appropriate programme historical build data as defined within the relevant programme configuration and data management plans throughout the design lifecycle of products + Administer Configuration Control, Chair Configuration Control Boards at Programme level and attend facilitate Change Review Boards. + Establish and agree all necessary parties classification and sentencing of changes + Create, Issue and Maintain Configuration Status Records and the Configuration Status Account in support of the business and Programme specific requirements + Supports Programme Manager in engaging with stakeholders and tracking changes to configuration across the enterprise + Ensure supporting documents and licences are stored and accessible in accordance with Raytheon's security policy + Produce reports and data as required + Creation of basis of estimates as required Candidate Requirements Essential: + Experience of working under ITIL processes + Detailed working knowledge of Military and Commercial CM standards and ISO 90001 + Able to effectively interface and communicate with multiple levels of management and colleagues in other engineering disciplines + Experience and ability to manage a complex task involving multiple sites multiple systems and multiple user and customer interfaces + Experience of establishing and implementing processes and the training of the Principles of CM and DM + Working knowledge of CM and DM applied to Hardware and Software development programmes + Able to integrate and work within a team + Willingness to work flexibly and travel on an occasional basis + Appropriate degree or equivalent with industrial experience in Configuration Management or experience working in a technical environment interfacing with systems, software, hardware or test engineering discipline + Experience stablishing, developing and implementing Configuration Management process and training such as planning configuration change management and control, identification, configuration status accounting and baseline control data library/repository, product release and delivery and configuration audits + Access or other database experience requiring schema definition and data manipulation + Working knowledge of CM and DM requirements within the Engineering Development lifecycle + Current holder of or eligibility to gain Security Clearance Desirable: + CMII Certification and ITIL Working knowledge of 05-57 and ISO 10007 + Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the generation and presentation of briefing packages to program management and customers + Self-motivated and able to work functionally alone in a programme team to meet programme requirements. + Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision + Experience of ITAR regulations + Proficient in evolution of program documents for impact t
