This role directly supports platforms that regularly provide revenues >100M By joining us as a Network Engineer, you'll be able to help to support this growing demand and secure the You'll be developing and supporting secure networks and systems that support some of BT's most important customers What you'll be doing * Creating and executing high and low level network testing/validation plans for a range of transport network platforms. * Undertaking regular platform validations using a range of network test equipment from a range of suppliers (IXIA, EXFO, JDSU, Anritsu) * Creating high and low level network designs for complex transmission networks * Hands on implementing these solutions, using a range of network vendors. * Working directly with our customers to understand their requirements and using this to inform your solutions. * Working with network vendors to resolve technical issues and to specify new features. * Providing some third line support to deployed solutions * Providing end user familiarisation/training for new features or products being deployed We'll also need to see these on your CV * Experience in designing, building and providing third-line support for complex transport networks that are secure, scalable, and resilient and give high performance. * Experience in the creation of both high level and low level design ideally using DWDM, SDH or Ethernet Technologies. * Hands on experience in the use of a range L2/Transmission test equipment provided by vendors such as IXIA, EXFO, JDSU ,Anritsu * Experience in the creation and execution of platform scale testing and validation plans ideally using formal methodologies (ITIL). * Experience in the design/use of simple IP networks as might be used in the management of a large scale network platform * Hands on experience with specific vendors' equipment, ideally including Alcactel-Lucent/Nokia, Juniper, Nortel. * A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study * Experience working to multiple deadlines * Due to the nature of the work our team undertakes, you'll need to be security cleared to be able to join us.
