Job Description
Would you like to work in an establishment where no two days are the same and where you can truly make a difference? Would you prefer small class sizes of 6-10, no endless hours of home marking and less restrictions on holiday dates? At PeoplePlus Justice we're committed to tackling the underlying causes of offending, and to transforming the lives of offenders. To achieve this, we deliver programmes of support that help those in prison or serving a sentence in the community. Our programmes deal with the root causes of offender behaviour, helping people to live improved lives and make a positive contribution to society. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, there is currently no face to face delivery of education in the prisons. However, we are still keen to speak to candidates regarding this role to start once prison education services resume. About the role. We are looking to recruit Tutors that can do more than just deliver a qualification but can engage and inspire students that have had little or no prior education. We need a Tutor that believes people are capable of change and deserve a second chance in life. Our Tutors deliver innovative, engaging and motivational learning sessions to small groups of Prison based learners. Our Tutors ensure that they work with our learners to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours while supporting them with their long-term goals and aspirations. They ensure that the appropriate training plans are in place and that the advice and guidance is given when required while ensuring they deliver the highest level of quality courses that engage with the learners and help them to reach their potential. Our Tutors take ownership of our delivery from entry level 3 up to and including level 2. Click HERE to watch a short video to see what other great things you can do while teaching at a prison. Have you got what it takes? You should have a passion for what you do along with relevant and recent experience. Ideally you will need to hold an appropriate level 3 teaching qualification and/or have substantial experience in the sector. You should be able to display a wide range of training methods to engage learners from all ages, abilities and backgrounds, including learners with significant barriers to employment and training. You will need to be driven to deliver the best employer/industry led skills training and willingness to understand employer or industry requirements. What's in it for you? We are on a journey to be one of the top 100 places to work in the UK. Here at PeoplePlus reward means far more than just pay. Your total reward package as a PeoplePlus colleague also includes a variety of different benefits as well as incentive and recognition schemes for our colleagues. Our generous and competitive benefits package includes; enhanced annual leave of 30 days per annum plus bank holidays for a full time role, a paid PeoplePlus Life Event Day each year, a paid Volunteering Day each year, a Pension, Life Insurance, an Employee Assistance Programme to access help and support 24 hours a day every day of the year, the opportunity to buy shares in the company through our Sharesave scheme, Refer a Friend reward scheme, Cycle to Work scheme and access to our benefits portal Perkbox which gives you discounts on hundreds of products, services, shops and entertainment. We also have our "Simply Dreams Come True" offering any member of staff the opportunity to turn the dreams into reality making the possibilities endless for our colleagues.
