Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Perioperative Practitioner (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery) who is interested in a fixed term or secondment opportunity to undertake career development in an education role to support Perioperative Staff throughout NHS Grampian. Currently there is a vacancy for a full time, Band 6 Practice Educator to cover a period of maternity leave in the NHSG Theatre Academy (for a period of 10 months). This post will contribute to the development and implementation of a structured programme of education for all perioperative staff in NHS Grampian which aligns to the Magnet nursing vision. You should have professional registration with the NMC or HCPC and have extensive perioperative experience. You are required to be working at Post Graduate Diploma level with experience of mentoring, teaching and facilitation in a range of clinical and educational settings. A proven interest in training, education and professional development for all staff will be essential and further development would be supported within the role. We would aim to appoint to the full time hours however we would welcome discussions regarding a variety of part-time hours or a job share. You should have excellent care values and a strong sense of team spirit coupled with a sense of humour and willingness to travel throughout NHS Grampian if required. Candidates should have enthusiasm to work, learn and develop yourself and colleagues within the exciting and challenging high pressure Perioperative environment. You will be dynamic and forward thinking in your approach and focused on providing safe, efficient and person centred care. A relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
