NSUAt North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, we have the opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacist to join our workforce. This post offers the opportunity to experience a wide range of specialities within Surgery including Trauma and Orthopaedics, Vascular, Gastro, General Surgery, Urology, ENT/Max Fax, and HomeCare. As well as opportunities to be involved with the Day Treatment Unit, and the Head & Neck Unit, which includes Ophthalmology. You will show initiative, be pro-active with the ability to work in a team and be flexible in your approach. The position will also allow you to develop and expand your understanding of NHS systems and structures including commissioning. It is essential that you are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and hold (or are close to completion of a post-graduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy practice). Experience of working in a hospital is essential. The hospital benefits from a busy emergency centre, haematology/oncology department, critical/intensive care unit and an innovative cardiology ward. The hospital also offers a wide range of general services, including medical, surgical, paediatric and mental health care from various hospital sites. The Pharmacy Department provides an excellent working environment, which focuses on patient-centred care. It prides itself in being forward thinking and keeping pace with changes in medicines optimisation and technology. The department employs robotic dispensing, ward-based clinical pharmacy, pharmacist led clinics and independent pharmacist prescribing to respond dynamically to the needs of the hospital and its patients. We are well respected throughout the hospital and have a close working relationship with the clinical teams. We also have a high level of commitment to staff development and actively encourage all staff to share their expertise to enhance the performance of the department. This post is based at the Peterborough City Hospital although you may be required to work at other sites in the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the department's late duty, weekend working and bank holiday and on call rotas.
