About the role: Oaks Primary Academy has a fantastic opportunity for a committed and motivated Premises Operative to join our collaborative team as soon as possible. This full-time position will assist the wider Site Team with the care of the academy premises, ranging from general maintenance duties including minor repair and refurbishment works, porterage and other duties, supporting the Estates Manager in ensuring the health and safety and security of a busy academy. We offer 25 days' holiday per annum (plus bank holidays) which increases based on length of service. Applicants will need a flexible approach to working hours and duties, and may be required to cover the duties of other team members in their absence, occasionally. Applicants need to be trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, physically fit, conscientious and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Ideally you will have good DIY skills, some knowledge of Health & Safety, basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding. We offer fantastic CPD opportunities as an academy and as a wider multi-academy trust so can provide support if there are any areas that you may need to be upskilled or trained. This is a fixed term position for one year initially, requiring the successful candidate to work 37 hours per week on a split shift basis (times include 30-minute lunch break per day); * 7am-1pm and 4pm-6pm Monday to Thursday * 7am-1pm and 4.30pm-6pm Friday Working for Oaks Primary Academy: Oaks Primary Academy is a small academy with approximately 160 pupils on roll and an additional 21 pupils in our Nursery. We are very proud of our school and the hard work and positive attitude of all our pupils and staff. Teaching areas are both safe and well maintained, providing a stimulating working environment for pupils. We are continually striving to improve our facilities in order to enrich the experiences of our pupils. The teachers and support staff form a very strong team and work closely with the Governing Body and Leigh Academies Trust to promote high standards throughout Oaks Primary Academy. The academy teaches a broad and balanced curriculum which is enriched by a wide range of extra-curricular activities. It is our aim to provide a happy, safe, and caring community, where everyone is encouraged and supported to achieve their goals.
