Job Description
Our background and your main purpose Ruroc exists to make helmets cool. We believe that re-engineering protection with the perfect balance of art and science will make people want to wear our helmets, making them safer and will mean they live longer (and cooler!). In 2019 we had our first 1m turnover day and in 2020 we had our first 1m turnover hour and were now in a fabulous position to build further growth. In January 2020 the business completed a strategic review to build on this foundation, leading to a number of initiatives Ruroc believes will unlock future growth. Firstly, the business is now investing significant operational/systems upgrades to improve efficiency, leading to improvements in business processes and customer experience. Secondly, a clear product and target audience strategy that will help Ruroc create more amazing products, engaging content/stories that engage this audience and generate high lifetime value. Finally, a number of new roles across the business have been created to help expedite growth, this being one of them. The leadership team believe this investment plan can unlock up to 100% growth in 2020 and then onto annual revenues of 50m within 3 years, making us one of the fastest-growing UK companies. Reporting to Rurocs Product Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that product designs are bought to life prior to the sampling process begins. Your work will be at the forefront of our organisation and therefore, we are looking for someone with an excellent rendering portfolio to support our Designers in aesthetically perfecting their CAD designs to be marketed to millions of potential customers. Today, weve generated an organisation structure that we believe will unlock success, however, were flexible and want to ensure we use your experience to put the right people in the right place within the Product team. Heres our current plan: Your Direct Reports: No direct reports. There is an opportunity to progress within the Product Department in the future with the growth of the organisation. Key Interfaces: Product Team Brand Team / Agencies Main Accountabilities * Work from concept CAD designs provided to you by the Designers and bring them to life into fully functioning works of art. * Deliver high-quality images for the Product, Web, Marketing, Brand Teams and, for any necessary communication. * Model, texture, and render new/existing products and 3D environments. * Keep quality standards in-line with the project, and re-iterate on them where necessary. * Ensure that all products are rendered to an impeccable standard and are provided to the Product Manager in a timely manner. * Clearly and regularly communicate with the Product Manager regarding your progress on the tasks presented to you. * Effectively communicate and collaborate with Product, Brand, Marketing, Trading, Operations and Finance teams; * Uphold Rurocs brand vision and rules as set out in Rurocs PLAYBOOK. Requirements This role is for you if: KEY SKILLS * A keen eye for image composition and photo-realism, including skills in creative lighting and texture creation. * Impeccable rendering skills to be showcased in front of hundreds of thousands of people * Excellent interpersonal skills * Enthusiastic about the success of the team, products and brand * Comfortable with UV Mapping * Meticulous * Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and also work under pressure of tight deadlines due to our product drops. * Strong design fundamentals in composition, colour, lighting, and shape * Ability to appreciate, respond to and provide constructive critique * You are independent and self-directed but able to work within a team of Designers * A quick learner who can process lots of information and prioritise action * Are bullish about Ruroc and its potential EXPERIENCE You have * Experience and are fluent in CAD Software (Cinema 4D, Keyshot, 3DS Max, Maya, V-Ray or Solidworks) * An outstanding portfolio showing your rendering and 3D work * Comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard 3D and 2D software * Comfortable using Adobe Packages - Illustrator and Photoshop You might have * Industrial Design experience * Purchased Ruroc or similar products, youre a customer/love skiing, snowboarding and/or motorcycling Successful people at Ruroc * STAY FOCUSED.
