Software Development Manager - IT Systems Apply now Date: Mar 31, 2020 Location: Wokingham, WBK, GB, RG41 5BN #job-location.job-location-inline { display: inline; } Company: National Grid About the role We are looking for a Technical Software Development Manager to manage a team of talented software developers, working across a number of projects and overseeing the full software development lifecycle for trailblazing IT technology solutions. You will provide leadership and direction for the internal platform roadmap within Waterfall and Agile environments, ensuring the platform meets the needs of the business and even exceeds expectations. You will have a strong experience of managing scope of work, govern processes for change controls and drive to adhere to excellent quality controls in all aspects of Software Development life Cycle. In addition, you will have experience of working in Energy/Utility/Engineering/Manufacture sectors and had success in delivering medium-large scale projects in complex environment fully engaged with stakeholders. About you Now you know all about the role and about National Grid, here is what we want from you to be successful in securing this exciting position. * Extensive experience in software development * Experience in leading complex software development teams as part of a large multi-year, business-critical technology program * Proficient in Agile software delivery models (Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, etc.) * Technical leadership, experience in high performing, agile teams. * Experience in building and growing an engineering team. * Great communication skills to collaborate cross-group and work effectively within the team and across the broader organization. * Disciplined, follow processes to thrive on Quality delivery. * Demonstratable experience of adopting standards, processes, controls change & scope. * Influence and provided leadership within Team and stakeholders to drive change. * Flexible and adaptable to changing need and passionate about continuous improvement What we stand for: At National Grid, we don't just ask our people to deliver to the highest standards.
