The International Directorate seeks: * to analyse developments in, and risks to the United Kingdom from, the global economy and financial system; * to devise, together with other directorates, appropriate responses to them in support of all the Bank's policy objectives; and * to ensure that the Bank's engagement in international forums advances the Bank's international strategy for achieving these policy objectives. Department Overview The International Directorate develops and ensures execution of the Bank of England's international strategy. We are responsible for international engagement, and analysis and development of policy on international topics across the full range of the Bank's responsibilities. Job description An exciting opportunity has arisen within International Directorate for a cross divisional PA to support the Senior managers of the Policy Strategy Division and the International Surveillance Division. * The role will be providing support across two divisions within the International Directorate as follows: * International Surveillance Division analyses economic trends and financial developments to keep the Bank's committees and senior leadership abreast of the outlook and key financial stability risks abroad.; * Policy Strategy Division plays an important role in shaping and delivering the Bank's strategy for international engagement and global trade in support of the Bank's objectives. You will provide a full secretarial and administrative service to one Senior Manager in the International Surveillance Division, and one Senior Manager in the Policy Strategy Division, as well as providing support to their teams. You will also provide support (if required) to technical senior managers in the divisions. The role includes exposure to many different areas of the Bank, including regular interaction with senior offices within the Bank, ahead of key international trips. Other responsibilities include; * Full diary management for two Senior Managers * Organising meeting papers for internal, external and international meetings * Organising foreign travel and dealing with travel expenses * Provide support for briefing indexes & programmes for foreign trips used by International Directorate and the Senior Offices in the Bank * Providing support to teams within the International Surveillance division and the Policy Strategy Division * Working effectively with the International Directorate Support team, providing support to the Director and HoD PAs where necessary, and covering across the Directorate, if required. Role Requirements Minimum Essential Criteria * Proven secretarial and administrative skills; * Strong communication skills to be able to liaise effectively with all levels of staff, including regular contact with senior/executive offices both inside and outside of the Bank; * Be part of and work in a strong team environment displaying enthusiasm, reliability and flexibility and be willing to take on new challenges; * Organisational, prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to work well in a structured way to a high standard against tight deadlines. * Excellent workload management and the ability to work to tight deadlines using own initiative; * A proactive self-starter who can work under their own initiative with limited guidance; * A sound knowledge of the Bank's core purposes, particularly in relation to the Financial Policy Committee and Monetary Policy Committee's responsibilities; * The ability to handle sensitive and confidential material, maintaining a high level of discretion and professionalism; * Excellent IT skills with confidence in using Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Filesite and Collaborate; * A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
