Okehampton Dental practice is based on the edge of Dartmoor, wild, open moorlands and deep river valleys, with a rich history and rare wildlife, Dartmoor is a beautiful place for families, picnics and walking. The Granite Way is an 11-mile multi-use trail running between Okehampton and Lydford along the north western edge of Dartmoor. It is mostly traffic free, largely following the course of the former Southern Region railway line. A journey along the Granite Way offers fantastic views of the granite landscape of Dartmoor, a perfect cycling track as well as several specific sites of geological interest. Okehampton is a bustling market town, of population about 7000, It is quickly assessible from the main, A30, dual-carriageway highway that goes through Devon and Cornwall. The City of Exeter in Devon is about 25 miles (approx. 40 km) to the east along the A30 and the Cornish town of Launceston is about 17 miles (approx. 27 km) to the south-west along the same highway. The town has a grammar school and 2 primary schools. There are 3 large supermarkets are based at the edge and the town centre has many smaller interesting shops. Many events are held in Okehampton throughout the year, please check the local website for up to date information. The practice was purpose built as a dental surgery over 50 years ago. We are the only practice in the town, the nearest being 8 miles away. The practice has 5 modern surgeries in the main building and one in a separate building. The team consists of 6 dentist, 1 implant dentist, 4 hygienist, 9 qualified nurses and 4 student nurses 2 established receptionist along with the practice manager of 25 years.
