Job Description
Davan ward presently requires an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse to join our multidisciplinary team as a Band 5 Staff Nurse. This is a 32.76 hour post (rotational day and night duty). The post is Permanent and Part time. RMN or RGN essential. Davan Ward is a 16 bedded mixed sex ward providing care and assessment for people with dementia and associated symptoms of stress and distress which are frequently expressed behaviour which may be challenging to relatives or carers. Applicants should demonstrate awareness of current research in Dementia Care, current Political drivers and the use of Therapeutic Psychological and Behavioural approaches and be willing to adapt to the ever changing needs of the Old Age Psychiatry service. The successful candidate should be motivated, demonstrate a commitment towards participation in the continued development of patient focused care whilst fostering a therapeutic ward environment. This position would suit those who wish to be part of an evolving service that recognises the diverse and complex needs of the elderly and their carers. The successful applicant will receive guidance and support and be encouraged to develop their knowledge and skills relating to the client group.
