An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced person to be a Systemic and Supportive therapies (SACT) Coordinator at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). We are a regional cancer centre and this is a fantastic opportunity to join the team. ABOUT THE TEAM The SACT coordinator sits within cancer care; this covers oncology and haematology patients, coordinating treatment across outpatients and inpatient wards. This has extended further to patients receiving treatment in their homes. The coordinating team is small but very busy with a high demand on our service WHAT YOU'LL DO * Primarily this role will coordinate all systemic anti-cancer therapy prescriptions to ensure a good patient experience and make efficient use of the capacity available within the department. * You will work closely with senior nurses, clinical coordinators, schedulers and pharmacy staff. * You will directly link with patients regarding all matters to do with provision of their cancer treatment responding to patient choice whenever possible and appropriate. * This role will also include the coordination of homecare treatments. * As a key member of the team you will advise on capacity and demand for cancer treatment. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR This position would suit a registered nurse or pharmacy technician with cancer care experience. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of at team.
