Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Vascular Surgery. It is envisaged that the applicant will undertake specialist training in Vascular Surgery. The successful applicant will work in the Vascular Unit for a period of up to 24 months. The successful applicant must be post MRCS or equivalent and, if an international graduate, fulfil the regulations of the International Medical Graduate Sponsorship Scheme as set out by the RCSEd and AoMRC. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be trained in the Medical and Surgical management of Vascular Disease and will be taught open Vascular Surgical procedures to ST3-4 level depending on technical abilities and progress. CbD, DOPS and 360 degree appraisal will be used to assess progress. Additionally, basic Vascular Ultrasound and Endovenous procedures will be taught. The successful applicant will be encouraged to enrole in the ISCP (www.iscp.ac.uk) to record operative log and WBA assessments. Induction: The Vascular Unit's Induction booklet will be made available prior to commencement of the post. Training on GMC Good Medical Practice, Consent, Mental Incapacity, UK Medico-Legal Issues and Equal Opportunities will be given. Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required.
