WAREHOUSE TEAM LEADER - Afternoon Shift "Experienced, high energy and motivational team leader required for very fast paced Goods Inward department in large National Distribution Centre." Salary range c23-24,000 + Benefits West Midlands Commutable from Wolverhampton, Telford, Walsall, Bilston, Willenhall. Dudley, Birmingham, Great Barr, Kidderminster, Stafford, Stourbridge, Halesowen, Bromsgrove, Lichfield, Tamworth, Stoke on Trent, Shrewsbury, Droitwich, Redditch, Worcester, Cheshire Our client is a well-established UK and International manufacturer and distributor of quality home improvement products to DIY stores, building trade catalogue suppliers and hardware shops. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor you will be responsible for the safe and efficient receipt of UK manufactured stock and incoming containers, storage, pick, pack and despatch of palletised and packaged goods and their delivery to national home improvement and online retail and wholesale customers through a 3PL next day carrier network.You will also ensure effective inventory control within a new state of the art Warehouse Management System and delivery system. The Role: Working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, you will be responsible for the management of team 10 warehouse operatives across all warehouse operations including goods inwards, put-away, picking, goods outwards and H&S. As a strong leader, you will inspire and motivate your team so that the business objectives are exceeded in quality, productivity, management of employees, service and health and safety. Goods Outward Ensure the Picking & Dispatching process is followed at all times. Supervision of the flow of Picks through the warehouse. Supervision of all orders leaving the building ensuring they are packaged correctly and all relevant paperwork is attached. Supervising the Rotas for all relevant shift ensuring cover is arranged. Supervise the working of any Overtime, ensure all staff report the reasons for Overtime on a weekly basis. Assisting the Group Warehousing Manager to write and implement procedures for all warehouse operations. Compiling relevant reports on warehouse performance. Goods Inward Supervise the day to day deliveries, be that Containers or other deliveries. Manage the daily Perpetual Inventor Process. Control of the booking in of all inbound freight. Responsible for all goods received paperwork matching the delivery. Responsible for all good received paperwork matching the original purchase order. Liaising with the QC Department on all returns and updating of all paperwork. Manage the Maintenance of stock in its correct location. Manage monthly reports on space utilisation. Health & Safety Assist Health & Safety Manager by: Managing the day to day Health & Safety requirements for all warehouse staff. Investigate any Near Miss Reports received, making recommendations and ensuring agreed actions are carried out. Instruct and examine all fork lift drivers, review and maintain their training, re-testing anybody who falls outside the required standard. The Ideal Candidate: You will have a good standard of general education with a passion and enthusiasm for warehousing and logistics. You must have a strong warehouse operations background as a Supervisor or Team Leader providing a next day B2B delivery service to retail, or wholesale or trade customers You must have experience in successfully managing warehouse teams of about 10+. You will have good persuasion and influencing skills able to work cross functionally and build effective relationships with colleagues on the same and other sites. Ability to work well under pressure with the ability to enthuse and motivate warehousing teams. Strong problem solver able to use own initiative to make business decisions relating to the warehousing operation that you will be supervising. Able to give and receive clear instructions both verbally and in writing in order to ensure warehouse procedures are strictly adhered to. Good attention to detail and be to work to deadlines in order to ensure all KPI's are met. You must have experience of WMS as well as excellent PC skills You must have the ability to build a team and manage change whilst also challenging assertively.
