Due to further expansion, we are seeking a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer to help us to continue to dominate one of the most buoyant, fastest-growing industries, that is changing the world and the speed of which we receive items. LineTen is on a mission to crack the code on urban delivery. By leading with our values and putting carrier partners first, we are paving the way for better delivery experiences. LineTen is a new approach to delivery with a free carrier API and an operations management platform for shippers. We're building the first global data-driven last-mile network that has the potential to solve industry-wide problems. Description The Technical Pre-Sales Engineer collaborates with sales, service, product, and development resources to ensure proposed projects include technical solutions that address customer needs, accurately represent the current business offering and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision-makers. The Technical Pre-Sales Engineer is the technical go-to person for the development, sales department and all stakeholders during the installation and pilot phases of a project. The role will require excellent communication and influencing skills, as you will be required to work with the Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, Projects Managers and Heads of Departments within IT and client businesses. Responsibilities * Effectively qualifies all technical aspects of an opportunity * Addresses and responds to prospect requests and product enhancements as needed * Secures input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the customer firm. Adapts solutions, as necessary, to ensure appropriate support. * Develop solution design assessments based on current company offering * Develops solutions that enhance the project in anticipation of customer/industry needs * Develops technical statement of work and solution architecture documents * Input and Deliver the product(s) roadmap(s) working with Product Managers * Presents complex technical information to non-technical audiences * Presents customer needs to product, services and development * Liaises with delivery as the in-field technical expert during pilots * Provides all technical operational support and documentation during the installation and pilot phases of the project * Provides coaching and professional development to team member sales associates in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills * Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the firm * Secures from customer technical staff commitments needed to ensure a deal's "technical close. Position Requirements * Significant experience working in a similar position, working with complex SaaS products * Preferably has worked in a start-up or equivalent fast paced and ambitious work environment * A degree or professional qualification is required particularly in Software Engineering/Computer Science * Exceptional influencing skills, with the ability to advise and recommend with real credibility * A record of experience that demonstrates capability and credibility * Architectural knowledge in Cloud services * Experience in managing the sales process, technical and commercial view, writing solution assessments, building technical statements of work, gathering new feature requirements from the customer * Has a logical approach to delivery and working on client's requirements, to realize how they align with the company's current proposition * Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences * Ability to present customer needs to product, services and development * An understanding of logistics and delivery sector would be a big advantage * Strong customer facing approach and presentation skills. * Passionate and pragmatic about technology * Creative and appreciative of emerging technologies * Excellent communication skills and a team player Perks on offer * Individual 2000 training budget per annum * 100 to spend on business books per annum * Flexible working environment * Ability to work from home 1 day a week (additional days to be agreed with your manager) * Enhanced maternity/paternity pay * Healthcare will be launched within the next 3 months * Modern, funky offices based in White City/Shepherds Bush * Safe bike storage and showers for those dedicated cyclists/runners * Have a dog?
