SOUTH ESSEX RAPID ASSESSMENT INTERFACE AND DISCHARGE SERVICE RAID Mental Health Practitioner(s) NHS AGENDA FOR CHANGE BAND 6 BASED AT BASILDON MENTAL HEALTH UNIT HOURS: FULL TIME (SHIFT PATTERN) PERMANENT Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is one of the top Mental Health & Learning Disabilities NHS Trust in the country. The Trust is in the process of further Transforming mental health services to better meet the needs of the local population and exciting and challenging developments are currently underway. As a result of the development of the current RAID service to a CORE 24 model at Southend Acute Hospital and Basildon Hospital, we are now in a position to recruit Band 6 Qualified Health professionals to these areas. We are looking for individuals who are flexible, creative, committed and able to adapt positively to change. You should also be able to work effectively taking a holistic approach to assessment and treatment working in partnership with service users and their carers/ families achieving a truly person centred service. You will need to be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team respecting the input of all the professions and professionals within this. You will also need to be prepared to work full internal rotation as the service provides 24 hour cover. An understanding of the Rapid Assessment Interface and Discharge approach and the Recovery Model is required. You will have experience of working with individuals in crisis and those with severe and enduring mental health needs and have an understanding of the impact of social care needs and social circumstances upon mental state and levels of mental distress. As our adult RAID services are not age related you will need to have experience of, or be able to, demonstrate an understanding of older people with functional mental health needs in addition to adults of working age. You must also have an excellent working knowledge of safeguarding. The post holders will need to be flexible and willing to work across the South Essex RAID Services in both Basildon and Southend should service need arise.
