Job Description

We require proactive and hardworking staffs to work as part of a team within Patient Movement who are predominantly responsible for the transfer of patients across our hospitals. Staff are expected to work at both QMC and City Hospital sites as required. Duties will include the movement of patients using wheelchairs, beds and trolleys, bloods, samples and specimen collection, collection of pharmaceuticals and stock from/to wards and departments, cadavers and the movement of medical gas cylinders. This is a challenging and demanding post, the successful candidate must be outgoing, enthusiastic and flexible in their approach. It is essential that you are physically fit and able to transfer patients either via wheelchair or beds which requires you to be active for prolonged periods of time to ensure a high quality and professional service is provided to patients at all times. Hours of work will be 37.5 per week working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis covering a 24 hour period which will include weekends and bank holidays.
