Job Description
Job Title - VP - Collateral & Margin Services Location - Glasgow Collateral Margin Services (CMS) is a business and risk aligned function responsible for managing Barclays' collateral, exposure, valuations and regulatory margin commitments across a range of products to help minimise credit, market and reputational risks associated to our business activity. The team is also responsible for developing best practice to meet industry and client demand, driving compliance with the growing market and regulatory requirements, and building a scalable Enterprise framework for Barclays future. CMS partners closely with teams across Trading, Sales, Collateral Optimisation, Treasury, Product and Valuation Control, Legal, Compliance, Risk and MO / Ops teams. We support a variety of products including all OTC derivative asset classes as well as FI, Equity, Repo, Cleared, Structured, GNA and Prime Brokerage products. This role provides critical experience and expertise to the Barclays collateral function during a time of unprecedented regulatory change, contributing strongly not only to the day-to-day margin activity but also to successful delivery of regulatory compliance and initiatives that provide commercial growth. What will you be doing? Lead the build out of the new CMS Glasgow team and drive the integration of this team within the local GMO Glasgow function. Management and oversight of local teams in Glasgow as well as functional responsibilities in Pune. This will include providing management coaching support and development for teams in Glasgow and Pune. Become an expert on Collateral and Margin requirements, process and technicalities and leverage knowledge to ensure robust operating levels and process improvement Become a lead / and partner for managing allocated functions, for example, Run the Bank disruptions including triaging issues and incidents for impacts to BAU and providing and driving solutions in partnership with technology and business colleagues. Manage communications to Leadership Team and other global stakeholders accordingly Execute Global and local strategy relating to Glasgow and provide management backup and coverage within the region for CMS more generally. Be actively involved in the Barclays Scotland community and ensure participation in various People Pillar initiatives (for example, Citizenship, Recruitment, Diversity & Inclusion etc). Coordinate LEAN initiatives and oversee execution cross teams as well as take ownership for wider business initiatives and objectives as required Engage with global CMS leadership team as well as Finance, IT and wider GMO leads and build strong relationships What we're looking for: Minimum 3 years in managing AVPs or team managers who manage others Worked minimum 5 years in areas related to derivative trade lifecycle, Middle Office, Finance, Product Control or valuation area Experience in bi-lateral or cleared collateral processes is preferred but not a must Skills that will help you in the role: Able to demonstrate strong in interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills Where will you be working?
