Department Profile: One of the largest divisions in the Firm, Operations is the first line of defense for Morgan Stanley's financial and reputational well-being and essential in delivering value. Operations is responsible for correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating operational risk, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and Automation. Team Profile: Trade & Transaction Reporting Operations (TTRO) manages the Firm's global transaction reporting obligations, monitoring the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the Firm's reporting. Comprised of teams in London, New York, Hong Kong, Glasgow and Mumbai, supported by a selection of vendors and third party service providers the criticality of the function ensures senior management engagement and secures a high profile for those in the team. As the Centre of Excellence for Transaction Reporting, TTRO are regularly engaged in delivering regulatory changes in a high focus, rapidly evolving environment. Supporting a broad stakeholder base, TTRO liaise with various internal and external counterparties daily, including Sales and Trading, Non-Market Risk leads, Legal and Compliance teams, Information Technology, trade organisations such as ISDA, AFME and FIA, Industry utilities such as DTCC and UnaVista in addition to partners across the Operations division. Primary Responsibilities: We are currently establishing the team to support the launch of a new transaction reporting obligation (Securities Financing Transaction Regulation "SFTR") in 2020. Initially the key responsibilities of this position will include: - Building robust operational processes and controls to ensure the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the Firm's reporting, - Conducting UAT testing and providing feedback effectiveness and defects identified,- Ensuring operational readiness for the new regime - Post-launch this position will have responsibility for managing exceptions, investigating issues and partnering across the Firm to remediate their findings. The team will also be tasked with producing Management Information, ensuring transactions are reported in line with the new regulations and providing regular feedback on progress to senior management across the Firm. Skills Required: Strong analytical and problem solving skills are key to this position.
