Leading retail company based in Surrey are seeking an immediately available part qualified or qualified Accountant to join it's team on a 12 month contract basis. Management Accountant - About The Role Supporting the FP&A Manager, you will provide the business with key financial and operational analysis. There will be a significant focus on the month end reporting cycle in order to produce timely, relevant and accurate management information, whilst striving to find more efficient ways of working. You will have the ability to interpret financial information for a non-financial audience and have experience of managing tight deadlines. As the Management Accountant you will: * Working closely with other members of the finance team to produce accurate and understood monthly management accounts for distribution across the business * Reviewing requirements for monthly accruals/prepayments, deferred/accrued income, post as required. * Understanding of the financial results and the ability to concisely communicate the key elements that have impacted on business performance. * Reporting site performance to Operations Managers and wider business * Completing balance sheet reconciliations with supporting evidence on a monthly basis * Preparation of the overview of all balance sheets, including risks and opportunities * Supporting of the forecasting and budgeting inputs into the reporting system. * Take responsibility for P&Ls, production of management accounts. * Review and check consolidated P&L, raise queries as required and deliver on-time and accurate monthly management accounts to the business. * Take ownership of the business P&L and balance sheets across the division as well as taking responsibility for providing commercial analysis and support to the organisation which will include: * Analysis of any underlying issues arising from any investigations and discuss potential solutions. * Provision of accurate reporting packages for management - including KPIs, key deliverables and various financial reviews. * Supporting the Finance Manager for Corporate and project work as determined by business needs. * Working closely with Category/Operational Managers, ensuring accuracy and consistency of local financial information. The successful Management Accountant will have: * ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent finalist / qualified * Significant financial management reporting experience * Extensive experience of working in a Finance team, including strong double entry bookkeeping and balance sheet reconciliation experience * Strong Excel skills * Experience of using OpenAccounts and SAP BPC would be advantageous Management Accountant - Benefits Free parking, subsidised canteen, generous pension, friendly working atmosphere Howett Thorpe are acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this role and comply with all relevant UK legislation and do not discriminate on any protected characteristics.
