The Daisy is an innovative project that was born in response to the model of Transforming Care and its philosophy has the underpinning of person-centred ethos which is embedded in every therapeutic and meaningful activity intervention and engagement. Working alongside a diverse and experienced team, as a Support Worker, you will develop good working relationships with each of the residents, be able to recognize individual indicators of behavioural needs and to have the skills to help the residents to develop appropriate coping strategies. A large part of your role will be to implement planned and appropriate interventions; promoting independence as we as overall well-being and healthy life choices. You will also be involved in a range of activities, supporting the residents with daily living skills following their individual person-centred support plans and activity programmes that will help them to develop the important skills they need to achieve their inspirations. Heath and social care experience and or an NVQ qualification would be desirable. You must be an excellent communicator and possess good people skills. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting people with learning disabilities & challenging behaviours in either a working or personal environment and most importantly, the right attitude. As a Support Worker in a 24 hour care service, working a shift pattern is mandatory as is working some weekends and bank holidays. This role also involves managing aggressive/challenging behaviours so candidates must be physical fit to complete our Positive Behaviour Management (PBM) training. Successful candidates will be required to complete (or demonstrate previous completion of) the AWP Care certificate.
