Job Description

About us We're an award-winning enterprise software scale-up. In 2019 we were recognised as the fastest growing tech company in Scotland, and ranked 19th in the UK overall in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. Back in 2013, our founders spotted an opportunity to use AI technology to help people and organisations manage complex projects at scale. This led them to build Braid, an intelligent project planning and resource management platform, which helps big professional services firms plan, adapt, and thrive. Our team lives our values, and we're dedicated to making sure our friendly, inclusive environment grows with us. Why we're hiring Implementing Braid represents big change for our customers, and involves process, system, and mindset adjustments across many teams. Complex integrations, infrastructure and security considerations are commonplace. As we are growing, we need a multi-talented Solution Engineer to help customers on that journey. As a Solution Engineer, you'll work across multiple implementation projects at all stages from pre-sales consulting to go-live, deploying Braid to hundreds or thousands of users within large organisations around the world. You'll be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of what the customer requires from a technical perspective, and play a crucial part in delivering the solutions proposed. You'll work across multiple departments and act as the bridge between our customer-facing and software engineering teams. You are * Technical, love to code, and are proficient in C#, Javascript, and SQL. * Excellent in a customer-facing capacity (e.g. scoping workshops) - friendly, patient, confident and clear. * Experienced in enterprise software implementations on the vendor side. * Experienced in infrastructure configuration, such as setting up servers, load balancers, databases etc. (especially on Azure). * Great at grasping and breaking down complex concepts into their simplest form - you're inquisitive and a natural problem solver. * A team player, proven at working cross-departmentally and always remaining focused on the big picture. * Comfortable challenging customers in a constructive way when something doesn't look or feel right. * Realistic when it comes to what is practical and achievable, from both a technical and capacity/timeline perspective. What you'll do * Lead and facilitate technical configuration and infrastructure requirements workshops, and liaise with technical people on the customer's project team. * Represent engineering at technical workshops, where mapping integrations and scoping technical development will be the focus. * Create integration maps, schematics, technical workflow diagrams, etc. to convey our product set-up to technical people during implementation planning. * Actively deliver the technical parts of a customer implementation, such as completing integrations, product enhancements, or coding the technical parts of project workflows. * Help customers with infrastructure provisioning and installation where required for on-prem, customer-hosted, and cloud-based deployments. * Lead specification of appropriate server sizing and backup/failover architecture based on likely load and uptime needs. * Ensure authentication mechanisms (e.g. SSO) are correctly configured and documented. * Document all technical aspects of a customer's product setup, including infrastructure, integrations, server specifications, and environments in order to create a smooth and informative handover to customer support. * Provide assistance to the support department to resolve more technical (3rd line) issues, such as integration troubleshooting or where knowledge of the relevant code is required. * Act as an escalation point for support to resolve infrastructure issues. * Contribute to customer-facing technical documentation. What you'll get * At least 1,000 per year to spend on professional and personal development * Every month we take time out of the working week for company events: past events include hiking, family BBQs, Fringe shows, and laser quest * 33 days holiday per year, 30 of which you can take whenever you like * Access to wellbeing offerings, such as our Employee Assistance Programme and a dedicated counselling service * Weekly All Hands meeting for inspiration and over-communication (lunch is on us!) * Fresh fruit and healthy snack bars in the office * NEST pension scheme * Genuinely nice, smart people to work with, who are excited about growing our company Equality of opportunity is more than just a responsibility: we believe it's a huge advantage to welcome a variety of experiences and perspectives into the team. Diversity is a great asset and, as such, we strongly encourage applications from any background. This is your opportunity to really influence how we get things done, and how we give our customers the best possible onboarding experience to drive our company growth. We're doing well, but there's lots more to do in order to maintain the high bar a
