The salary is up to 28,000 FTE per annum - dependent on the experience. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week with day shifts and no nights! Shifts can vary between 7:30 a.m to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday only, with possibility of early start/early finish or late start/late finish. A bit about the job .. As a Pharmacy Technician at HMP Bullingdon, you will assist in the delivery of a high quality pharmacy service to the prison population. You can expect to provide medicines management services to assist in tackling identified, inequalities within the prison population contributing to diagnosis of care and treatment needs. This includes providing pharmacy related information to patients, prison officers and other healthcare professionals ensuring that the level of advice given is appropriate to overcome barriers to understanding, conveying complex and sensitive information in an easily understandable form. The Pharmacy Technician will also assist with the implementation and development of pharmacy support to all wings in the prison which includes, where appropriate, counselling of patients on the correct use of medication. It goes without saying that you will be responsible for dispensing medicines to agreed standards, calculating doses and quantities for supply where there is a specific requirement for accuracy e.g. Methadone preparation. Furthermore, you will support the induction of new pharmacy technician starters. HMP Bullingdon is a Cat B remand prisons for adult males aged 21 and over, near Bicester, Oxfordshire. A little about you.. You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent qualifications and must have a current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
