Job Description
Senior Clinical Fellow Ormskirk District General Hospital, Paediatrics Department Permanent Full-Time MT03 - MT04 38,693 - 49,036 (plus on call allowance) Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire. Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk and District General Hospital. This includes adults' and children's accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialties. Women's and children's services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital. The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton. Applications are invited to join a friendly and progressive Paediatrics team! The department strives to improve healthcare of infants, children and young people in the region. Our ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate good clinical and communication skills delivered with compassion. In return you will be supported and valued for the skills and knowledge you bring to the team, working alongside an enthusiastic and forward thinking Clinical Director, Service Director, management and administrative team. The post is full time and the successful candidate will contribute to a 1 in 8 on-call Rota which includes General Paediatrics, Speciality Clinics for example Epilepsy, Endocrine, Allergy and Level 2 Neonatal Unit. The unit also includes 8 Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Trainees, Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates. Paediatric services are based at Ormskirk District General Hospital in a newly built Paediatric Department. The Department comprises a dedicated Children's Accident & Emergency Department with an Observation and Assessment Bay, In-patient ward and a day case unit including facilities for adolescents, in a designated modern Paediatric Outpatient Department at Ormskirk Hospital, delivering a range of general and specialty clinics. In addition, previous successful candidates have gone on to secure a place on training posts due to their wealth of experience gained within our Trust.
