About the job As Health and Safety Advisor, you'll monitor, review and champion health and safety processes and policies in order to protect our staff, ensure we are legally compliant, and engage staff in promoting safety. You will work towards continuous improvement of processes, identify and rectify safety issues, advise the business and site management on best practice for safety. Reporting directly into the Training, Facilities and Health & Safety Manager, this role is ideal for an experienced, hands on H&S Advisor or Manager looking to manage the risks and changes in an FMCG business as we grow. What you will be doing: * Update, monitor and review Hello Fresh policies, processes, forms, and reports. * Advise management team on safety process, changes, accident investigation, best practice and all general safety enquiries. * Organise and lead staff engagement activities to promote safe practice and a safe working culture. * Create regular reports on safety and process improvement, including, accident investigation status, safety issues, new initiatives and site strengths and weaknesses. * Lead continuous improvement activity, including but not limited to, updating forms, procedures and defining new ones where necessary. * Identify and rectify gaps, problems, inefficiency and inefficacy of current processes. * Lead site safety training programs including: induction, manual handling, and accident investigation. * Own, review and perform new task and area risk assessments * Liaise and communicate with the operations team. * Manage consumables and washroom supplies. * General administration tasks related to health and safety. * Be responsible for preparing and sending out key communications to site staff. * Act as first point of contact for operation management and shop floor teams in relation to safety. * Ensuring safety controls and measures work with both the business priorities and operational requirements. Who you are: * Practical knowledge and experience in an operational environment. * 5+ years of H&S experience * Up to date with relevant H&S legislation and controls * NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent. * Active interest in the health and safety of colleagues, visitors and contractors. * Strong organisational and time management skills. * Excellent communication skills. * Energy, enthusiasm, commitment and a can-do flexible attitude. * Embraces change and challenge. * Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. * Experiencing managing people is preferable but not required.
