Visa: Sponsorship is Not available Location: London, Mayfair Comp range: 50,000 - 80,000 base salary (poss neg) Bonus: paid annually, range between 20% - 80% of salary Benefits: full package inc health, pension etc Team/Role * We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team. * This is not your usual sysadmin role; we're looking for someone who wouldn't be puzzled by the term Infrastructure as Code', and is just as happy debugging a PowerShell script as they are troubleshooting an OS issue. * This is also not plugging in Servers, tracing cables, and keeping the lights on (although there might well be some of that from time to time), this is about working in an environment where automation is king. * They will relish the opportunity to take on responsibility, will bring experience of Infrastructure in an enterprise environment, and have a proven track record of demonstrating initiative. * They will be looking to make the next leap in their career into a challenging, fast paced, and agile Infrastructure environment where change is the norm. Responsibilities * Maintain and develop our server and desktop estate through automation * Create, implement and maintain global standards across the environment * Participate in idea creation on new technologies and improvements to existing infrastructure. * Collaborate and continue to develop the automation platform, leading our push into the cloud * Evangelise the Infrastructure as Code mind-set and methodology Skills * 1-5 years' experience * Solid Scripting experience, ideally PowerShell * Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills * Server deployment and management * Windows 7/10/2008/2012/2016 operating systems and services Desirable * Degree educated in Computer Science, Engineering or related field * Exposure to Infrastructure technologies including SANs, physical Servers and network Switches * Interaction with MSSQL Databases * Performance monitoring and tuning * Virtualisation technologies * MS Exchange Character * Communicative and pro-active personality with a strong get it done mentality * Strong desire to understand and fix the underlying problem, or auto-remediate via automation. * Must be committed to the Infrastructure as Code mind-set. * Hungry, motivated and ambitious. * Ability to prioritise * Delivery focused * This is a unique role and a chance to work with the latest technologies, whilst learning and developing your skill set within a highly performing Infrastructure team.
