At Orchard House we offer compassionate, individualised residential and nursing care to 80 residents in a friendly and homely environment. Orchard House is set right in the heart of the Cotswold village of Bishops Cleeve, at the foot of Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds. Night Nurse (full or part time considered) at Orchard House, Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham 18.60/hour (19.60 weekend shift) Orchard House accommodates 50 residents, some of whom have complex nursing needs. The home is located within the heart of Bishops Cleeve and the nearby Cheltenham town can be accessed easily by bus. You will be joining an established team of nurses, carers and ancillary employees, some of whom have worked with us for 10 years or more. The team itself is supplemented by a group of volunteers who are very actively involved in delivering support to residents. You will enjoy the homely atmosphere of Orchard House where we promote friendly interactions between residents and employees. If you have a particular interest in a specific aspect of care, we can facilitate your development by helping you become a champion in that area. We're looking for a qualified Night Nurse with current NMC pin. It's a varied role and you may expect to develop a care plan, provide medicine safely, oversee the care team plus deliver nursing care to our residents. You will have the ability to understand and manage the complexities of the multitude of clinical and psychological factors that affect the health and well-being of our elderly residents, whilst in turn supporting their families. Skills and requirements * Compassion and understanding * Ability to develop caring relationships with residents * Clear verbal and written communication * Patience * Promoting person centred care and independence What else we're looking for: Experience of producing well developed care plans and risk assessments is important too, as is an understanding of regulatory frameworks, including DoLs and MCA. Plus experience or willingness to train in: * Catheterisation * Syringe drivers * PEG feeding * Verification of Death * Venepuncture * Blood monitoring * Plus understanding of aseptic technique, epilepsy, sepsis What will you get in return?
