CONSULTANT ADULT PSYCHIATRIST FOR the HAVERING ACCESS AND BRIEF INTERVENTION TEAM Substantive post - 10 PA North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) provides mental health services and community services for people living in the London boroughs of Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham and Havering, a combined population of approaching one million people. The Access and Assessment Service as part of the NELFT Integrated Mental Health Care Pathway has been recognised as a centre for excellence in the House of Lords/RCPsych report on Old Problems New Solutions - Improving Acute Psychiatric Care for Adults in England. The service has been further recognised by NHS Benchmarking Network as one of the top 3 services in England. Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in General Adult psychiatry in the Havering Access and Brief Intervention Team. This team is the single point of access team for adults aged 18-70 years old providing assessment and brief intervention for common and severe mental health disorders. The successful candidate will be one of the three adult consultant psychiatrists based within the service. This post will be based at Oasis House, Gubbins Lane, HaroldWood. This is a replacement post which is as a result of one of the 2 consultants in the service moving on. The post will attracts 10 Programmed Activities per week (see Job descriptions for specifics). There are oncall responsibilities (1 in 40) with this post. The post offers excellent CPD and study leave arrangements as well as good research and service development opportunities. We are looking for an enthusiastic flexible candidate who demonstrates leadership abilities and is committed to working in a multidisciplinary setting and in service development. Applicants should be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT. The candidate should be suitably qualified, including eligibility for Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status. The Trust has excellent relationships with all stakeholders.
