Job Description

On behalf of my client we are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse for the Ipswich area. You must be a Registered nurse with a current NMC pin. This is a home for children that require mental health assessment and intervention. They utilise the secure base model of care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and we have an experienced team inclusive of mental health nurses. The home offers therapy and education on site and the overall focus of the home is to achieve positive outcomes for young people, they do this through multi agency working, personalised care planning and creating positive attachments. This placement will provide brilliant experience for understanding and working with mental health in a therapeutic environment. You will be working alongside an experienced team of support workers, nurses and therapists. This residential home is a unique setting. It is first of it's kind to provide support for young people with both challenging social backgrounds as well as mental health diagnosis requiring on going support. Responsibilities will include being a named nurse to one or two young people and taking the lead in supporting key children with their health, safety and wellbeing. You will do this by working alongside keyworkers, developing and writing care plans, risk assessments, reports and having regular nursing one to one sessions. Typical shifts for a registered nurse are 08:00 - 23:00, 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00 and 15:00 - 23:00. The salary is £25,000-£28,000
