The Opportunity Utilities Assurance Manager, Hinkley Point C, Competitive Salary & Benefits A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Utilities Assurance Manager to join us at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, Somerset. This role relies upon close coordination with the Infrastructure and Utilities Service Manager who will conduct all contract management activity to support the work package delivery. Reporting directly to the Site Operations Integration Manager you will be responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of all activities associated with the life cycle delivery of the specific areas of assigned work. Site Operations is a stand-alone Multi-Disciplinary Team that brings together Logistical and Business Support functions that due to the scope and complexity of the services it provides must fully integrate with all contractors and all other site based MDT's and all Associated Developments. It must remain cognisant of the drive to engage with the local supply chain, and remain aligned with Pre-Construction Planning strategy and philosophy. Duties include: * The Utilities and Assurance Manager is the HPC Construction Site subject matter expert for their scope of work and will be called upon to provide technical input during the planning, preparation and subsequent operations of their work area. * The position will have a number of direct reports [circa 6] who will either be EDF Energy Staff or Embedded Contractors, areas of responsibility will not necessarily be limited to the main HPC construction site but are also likely to include a number of off-site associated developments. * Accountable for ensuring the efficient delivery of support services in accordance with all safety, quality time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the HPC construction project withdirect line management responsibilities for the Site Operations Delivery Leads assigned to the specific areas of work for which they are accountable. The Person We are seeking an experienced individual who can demonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic and faced paced environmentleading the provision of critical site utilities to a construction workforce of circa 5,600.Directly accountable for ensuring all statutory, regulatory and site controls are complied with you will be able to manage a range of multi-level stakeholder relationships both internally and externally. As a Utilities Assurance Manager you will drive the delivery of: * Developing and execute effective strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan. * Anticipate and resolve any issues arising with the contract or package of works, identifying risks and facilitating their resolution. * Provide budgetary control for utilities assurance activities and provide input to the relevant Service Manager during monthly reviews. * Responsible for providing compelling advice in appropriate discipline areas, (electrical, Mechanical, Water and monitoring adherence to the defined technical standards. * Secure the required resource necessary to meet project requirements, and identify any personnel shortfalls or issues within the project team in conjunction with the relevant Service Manager. The Skills The successful candidate will have Significant Management Experience on a construction site or other industrial plant/high hazard industry with an engineering degree or equivalent qualification. You will demonstrate intellectual capacity to deal with complex issues and work within our local supply chain vision, creating a one team ethos with excellent communication skills and experience of positive stakeholder engagement both internally and externally. Key skills and experience required: * Knowledge of appropriate Regulations and Codes of Practice including Electricity at Work Regs, BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations and associated COP, National Grid Code, Electricity Connection Standards of Performance. * Knowledge and experience of HV and LV electrical systems design, installation, testing and maintenance, systems switching, isolation and control including Safety Rules andHealth and Safety legislation including HASAWA, CDM. * Membership of relevant Professional body preferable (e.g. MIET) including previous experience of working in a high security environment, ability to develop a strategy and deliver it with a proven track record of delivery within a large project environment.
