Job Description
Are you a current pre-registration trainee pharmacist due to qualify in the summer of 2020 or a qualified band 6 pharmacist looking for a rewarding career in hospital pharmacy? In July 2020 Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS Foundation Trust and Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will be merging to form the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to join our pharmacy team across both pharmacy sites. The rotational pharmacist position ensures that all essential aspects of hospital pharmacy are covered within two years of starting. Rotations will take place across both sites learning from the different clinical specialities at each location. Rotations will be supported by a training package alongside support from the specialist pharmacist and accredited technicians. We support the continued development of pharmacists within our team, as a newly qualified pharmacist we offer the opportunity to complete the Newly Qualified Pharmacist Development and Support Scheme with Health Education England. The pharmacy services are well regarded in the Trust and recognised as a key element to any clinical development. The Pharmacy team is forward thinking; we embrace change and are constantly looking for ways to improve the service. The patient is at the centre of all that we do and our strategy is to provide a pharmacy service that has medicines optimisation at its heart. . EPMA (Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration) has been implemented at Poole Hospital and will follow soon at Royal Bournemouth Hospital improving the way that we work. This is an exciting time for us following the Dorset Clinical Services Review. Royal Bournemouth Hospital will develop into the Major Emergency Hospital for Dorset and Poole Hospital will be developed into the major planned hospital. Applicants must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council or eligible to register in the Summer of 2020. Full-time (37.5 hours per week) The post holder will be required to participate in late night and weekend working (including approximately one Bank holiday per year). This role includes on-call duties. It is anticipated that the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will merge in 2020 to form East Dorset Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
