Job Description

Do you want to support adult mental health inpatient services? We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to support the Adult Mental Health inpatient services at West Park Hospital. We are seeking volunteers aged 18 or over who can, working with other volunteers, help to facilitate meaningful activities. The role may include: * Helping facilitate activities such as arts and crafts, dance, drama, sport and music. * Chatting and listening * Board/card games * Themed activities i.e. popcorn and a dvd * Light physical exercise (a walk in the garden) * Pampering/self-care - We would like to meet anyone who is qualified as a barber/hairdresser or beautician * Gardening * Games We deliver high quality care through a range of evidence-based treatments for adults with mental health issues working towards sustained recovery from the wards back into the community. Role limitations: * No access to patients records ( paper or electronic) * No clinical or personal care * All of the above will be in addition to an employee's role and will enhance and add value to the service that the team provides If you are caring, compassionate and enthusiastic and have the courage and commitment to share your skills, we would like to meet you. Supervision and training will be provided. If successful volunteers will be subject to a DBS check being completed. Limited actual out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
