Job Description
Background to the Post Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) has an international reputation for the treatment and research of cancer. ICHT is now one of the highest performing Trusts in the area with exemplar pathways and outcomes. Oncology has led the way with a transformed model of inpatient care (fully integrated with palliative care), an elective admission ward and assessment / ambulatory care. Chemotherapy day services have lead the sector in delivering nurse led chemotherapy, and radiotherapy has seen new Linacs, CT imaging and computer-aided programing. ICHT serves a local population of almost 2 million, and has extensive tertiary referral patterns. The Trust offers specialist care for almost all cancers and is the national lead on gestational trophoblastic (only one of two centres in England) and germ cell tumours. It is also the regional centre for malignant spinal cord compression. Patients are cared for by a team of doctors (ward consultants / oncologists/ specialist registrars and junior doctors), Palliative care team, nurses, CNSs, AHP and many others. All post holders are expected to care for patients to the highest standards within a collaborative team. Employment Type: TEMPORARY
