Working within a prison primary care environment gives you the opportunity to develop your clinical skills, professional and personal strengths. We deliver a variety of healthcare interventions to the young men in the establishment including triage, management of minor illness and injury, long term conditions management, acute and chronic wound management, health promotion activity, sexual health clinics and vaccinations and screening programmes. Other services include GP sessions, Opticians, physiotherapy, podiatry, dental clinics, drug and alcohol services and mental health services. If you are interested in every day being different, working in prison with a complex population will provide a stimulating work environment. About the Job Nursing prison is never dull or predictable. On any given day you will be trained to deliver a variety of nursing intervention from health promotion to emergency care, vaccinations to wound care, long term conditions to emotional support and managing substance misuse clients. It is this variety that keeps things fresh and stimulating. Every day will bring new challenges and experiences, at the same time you will have all the support and training you need to deliver the best care possible . You can expect to be involved in all aspects of the primary care delivery service. You'll carry out and contribute to the development of all nurse-led services. Job Requirements You will be a qualified Registered Nurse - Adult with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever changing. You'll have a positive, flexible approach working within a team that encourages new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously, a good team player as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then we look forward to welcoming you to our team. Salary and Benefits We are offering a competitive full time salary of up to 34,000 FTE per annum dependent upon experience. Full-time hours will be 37.5hrs per week on a rotational shift pattern including weekend work - excludes night shifts. Part-time applications also welcome.
