Job Description
Are you looking to work within a service that offers and promotes outstanding care to its patients? If the answer is yes, then we are looking to recruit flexible, enthusiastic individuals to work in our prison healthcare service at HMP Long Lartin. About the Job HMP Long Lartin is a Category A and B dispersal prison holding up to 625 sentenced prisoners. There is an 8 bedded inpatient unit and existing on site pharmacy. As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, the General Practitioner will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient's requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare staff, patients and carers and have active involvement in clinical governance/effectiveness activities. It doesn't end there; you will have a chance to become actively involved in audit, teaching and training (management of substance misuse and/or blood borne viruses) as well as helping us to adapt the service to the ever-changing needs of the patients. Job Requirements You will be a qualified GP (with GMC and performers list registration) and have a real passion for building on your medical skills in an environment that is ever changing. You'll have a flexible approach working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!
