Job Description

Band 5 Theatre Scrub & Anaesthetic Practitioner s - Friendly and supportive learning environment with developmental opportunities, innovative and dynamic team. We are a Major NHS trust based in the upcoming and exciting town of Reading in Berkshire and considered one of the best places to work according to the NHS Staff survey 2017. The Royal Berkshire Hospital, part of the NHS Foundation Trust, is rated as good by the CQC and is also considered one of the best hospitals in the UK. The hospital comprises of twenty operating theatres covering multiple specialties, serving our local community, including paediatrics. The theatre complex comprises of twenty theatre suites with four recovery units, these are divided into specific specialties across three departments, including a unique ring-fenced Elective Orthopaedic unit. The specialties include General and Emergency Surgery, Bariatric, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Urology, ENT and Ophthalmology as well as Robotic Surgery. We deliver excellent patient experience and quality of care, with patient safety at the forefront of our practice, recognising that theatre practitioners play a vital role in our patient pathway. We're looking for enthusiastic and motivated people who aspire to learn and develop to join our inspirational team. Whether you have specific specialty experience or not, full support and training will be provided. Although the positions will be based in a specific department, you will have the opportunity to work across different specialties. The successful candidate will demonstrate high standards of practice with excellent communication, clinical and decision making skills. They will need to demonstrate the ability to translate the trusts vision of high quality care and excellent patient experience into action. Location: Reading is multi-cultural, lively town that is perfectly situated to access London with ease via the network rail system as well as being surrounded by some of the beautiful countryside that Berkshire and Oxfordshire has to offer. The town invites many things to do and is well known for popular events such as the annual Reading Festival and Reading Half Marathon.
