Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join our Training Team as a Machinery Trainer. This is a pivotal role, working within the heart of the organisation. The Machinery Trainer will be responsible for delivering high quality machinery training within all areas of the business, ensuring staff have the knowledge and skill to operate equipment safely and to the correct standards. Also responsible for the design and delivery of a comprehensive training schedule based on the needs of the both the Organisation and individuals. With fantastic communication and organisational skills, you will be a committed, team player, proactive and creative with the confidence to deliver training at all levels across the business. Assessing progress and striving for continuous improvement at all times, your focus will be delivering training to the highest quality and standard. Duties and Responsibilities will include: * Work closely with Managers, Supervisors and departments to establish training needs for all Machinery Operators across all areas of the business * Support the Production teams at Sefter and Leythorne, providing machinery training across both sites * Design and develop training materials for delivery, ensuring manufacturers guidance and all relevant procedures are included * Review all training delivered regularly to ensure content is accurate and engaging * Ensure all Machinery Operators are monitored and assessed to gauge their level of competency and skill and to highlight areas for improvement * Feedback to Supervisors and Managers any areas for development identified during training * Liaise with key stakeholders regarding future plans for new machinery, changes in machinery usage or updates to procedures, and amend/revise training where necessary in order to adapt to a changing environment * Work in partnership with departments to identify areas for continual improvement * Use Barfoots Learning Hub (LMS) to store training records and keep up to date at all times * Keep accurate and up to date records of training that are readily available and 'audit ready' at all times * Become a Subject Matter Expert in all production machines through manufacturers training, handbooks and guidance, Training manuals and SOPs, along with developing experiential knowledge and skills * Personal commitment to improving own trainer style and expertise Requirements * Excellent presentation and facilitation skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Pro-active, positive and self-motivated * Ability to work autonomously and flexibly * Experience of operating machinery * Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment (desirable) * Experience of designing and delivering training programmes (desirable) * Food Safety Level 3 or equivalent (desirable) * IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (desirable) Benefits Why Work for Barfoots? * Investors in People Silver Award * Company pension scheme * Discounted leisure membership * Discounted vegetable box scheme * Cycle to work scheme * Approved centre for Highfield qualifications * Free on-site parking * Committed to sustainability
