Florence is looking for a talented Frontend Web Developer to join the team and work on a number of initiatives we have coming up as well as working on our core platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Work closely with Product Managers and UI/ UX to develop new user-facing features. * Creating a scalable, well-tested product that lots of people rely on for their work. * Having a strong focus on the product and what's important for the user. * Shaping the actual direction of the product. Being vocal and communicative to ensure we give our best to those using our products. * Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to fully understand the needs of our users. * Create maintainable, well tested code for use by thousands of users. * Dealing with legacy code, writing tests and finding ways to refactor into more robust solutions Requirements To succeed in this role you will need the following: * Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, having demonstrated its use in a commercial environment * Strong experience writing tests for code in a commercial environment. * Strong communication skills * Proficiency with HTML and CSS * Good attention to detail. Able to translate mockups from Marvel/Sketch into fully functional components We'd especially like someone with all of the above and the following: * Exposure to React in a commercial environment, writing production quality JavaScript code * Basic understanding of Redux in React applications - good understanding of side effects/async would be great * Good understanding of CSS with SASS/SCSS - experience working with a design system a plus * Comfortable with writing tests in JavaScript - preferably using Jest & Enzyme Benefits * 25 days holiday * Company contributory pension scheme * Regular company and social outings (after the COVID lockdown) * MacBook supplied when joining When we are back in the office: * Access to kitchen area supplied with free teas, coffees, biscuits etc * Opportunity to contribute to growth in an early stage startup * Fun, friendly and collaborative startup office environment * Friendly office dogs
