Job Description

Due to our continued growth, YASA is looking for a Quality Systems Engineer to join the team. Reporting to our Head of Quality you will be responsible for overseeing the quality system, ensuring the effectiveness of documentation and procedures, and identifying areas for improvement and corrective actions to rectify non-conformance issues. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of CMM activities to ensure manufacturing and customer needs. Key responsibilities will include: * Supporting the implementation of effective, efficient, and documented quality systems throughout the facility compliant with ISO 9001, IATF16949 and any Customer Specific Requirements * Developing, implementing and updating quality procedures and forms, including training for quality procedures for new and existing products in conformance to IATF requirements * Planning and carrying out internal auditing * Supporting external audits; reporting findings and tracking corrective action activities * Assisting in completing relevant PPAP element documentation * Monitoring quality metrics and driving continuous improvement issue trends; driving appropriate improvement actions within the organisation * Training and guidance of Inspectors and Technicians on the proper use of measuring equipment and departmental procedures * Supporting the design and fabrication of gauges and fixtures * Supporting the optimisation of CMM processes (including programming) * Determination of quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes * Developing sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods. Skills and experience required : * Minimum HNC/Degree in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent) * Proven experience working in a manufacturing quality or supply chain quality environment, preferably in high volume manufacturing * Experience with internal and external audits * IATF Auditor qualification * VDA Process Auditor qualification * Experience with quality improvement programmes, Pareto, PFMEA, 5s, 6 Sigma or similar continuous improvement tools * Knowledge of CMM programming * Ability to understand engineering drawings * Knowledge of gauging and fixturing development * Experienced in the use of statistical analysis, process capability and problem resolution tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma etc.) and techniques * A team player with the ability to work on own initiative * Ability to influence others along with a positive "can-do" attitude * Strong written and verbal communication skills * A flexible approach to work * Ability to work at pace in a multi-project environment * Full UK driver's license.
