Come and join our dynamic and enthusiastic theatre team based at North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke. We work across a wide range of specialties and offer the opportunity to develop your skills in a unique and exciting setting. We currently require Theatre Practitioners to join scrub teams in a number of specialties. We welcome new practitioners who want a change of career and offer an excellent in-house training and development program. For more experienced Practitioners who may be looking for a new challenge we are one of the World's leading centers for Peritoneal Malignancy surgery and are one of two Hospitals in the UK funded to treat appendix cancer also known as Pseudomyxoma peritonei. We perform Cytoreductive surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and have an international reputation for treating peritoneal malignancy from colorectal cancer and peritoneal mesothelioma, regularly hosting teaching and training for healthcare professionals from around the globe. We also undertake advanced laparoscopic Colorectal and Gynaecological surgery, Liver resections and complex urology, as well trauma and elective orthopaedics. The orthopaedic department is recognised as a leading centre for corrective osteotomy and also for enhanced recovery for arthroplasty. We understand the importance of supporting professional development and offer training both within and outside the organization. We encourage extended roles such as the Advanced Scrub Practitioner and the Assistant Theatre Practitioner. You will be offered the opportunity to apply for a place on an AO trauma course or another recognised course that is relevant to your area of practice during your first year. We provide a rich learning environment for students and you will help our Practice Development lead to deliver this. We are looking for motivated individuals with excellent communication skills who thrive in well supported teams. The unique services we provide are reflected in our flexible shift patterns. The Trust currently runs a 5 day week elective service and a 7 day 24hr emergency service which includes trauma and maternity services.
