Job Description

What's Involved? We are looking for volunteers to join our brand new local Volunteer Fundraising Group in Aylesbury. Getting involved is a really great way to raise funds for Alzheimer's Society and make a difference to the lives of people affected by dementia. You will receive support and guidance from our Community Fundraiser and have an opportunity to meet like-minded people in your area. You will play a vital role uniting your local community and organising events to raise much needed funds and awareness of dementia and the work that we do. The amount of time you will need to commit will vary depending on the activities of the Fundraising Group, but generally a couple of hours a month will be required for planning meetings and then attendance at the activities organised by the group. Ideally you will live in Aylesbury or close by in order to be able to meet up easily with other Fundraising Group members. Tasks involved will vary but could include: Helping to organise fundraising events and activities within your local community Contributing to the planning of meetings Contributing ideas for fundraising and helping to promote and market the various activities Researching local information and opportunities for further fundraising Acting as an ambassador, helping to spread the word about the work of Alzheimer's Society Meeting regularly with the other members of the group to organise and support fundraising activities in your local community This role will suit you if you... Regional fundraising is at the very heart of how we raise vital funds at a local level. The money we raise funds the delivery of universal services that include our website and National Dementia helpline as well as services we provide locally. It also helps fund research into the cause and cure of dementia and our campaigning work. What you need to know: We need to ensure that people living with dementia who benefit from our services are safe. In order for us to do this we interview, check and train our volunteers in on-going roles. If you have an accessibility need we'll make reasonable adjustments to enable you to volunteer.
