Job Description
Graphic Brands are currently looking for a Studio Operator to join their team at Barwell. The role will be to receive artwork files, containing text and graphics, directly from customers, artwork tracker or CSRs and prepare a print ready file for flexo press or the HP Indigo 6800 Digital Press. This position works with text, hotfoil, emboss and tactile print. We also produce work for the pharmaceutical companies under BRC. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Receive artwork and may perform Preflight to determine of the file is complete * Prepares incoming artwork for customer approval including text editing, colour matching and dieline creation * Apply colour correction to art files, perform colour separation, steps art according to press layout. * Prepares soft and/or hardy copy proofs * Submit print ready PDFs to the HP Indigo DFE. Submit trapped up print file to tiff * Works closely with CSR * Has overall responsibility for the accuracy and quality of all files sumitted. * Adhere to or recommend prepress procedures designed to optimise printing, improve accuracy and quality and workflow efficiency. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE: * Strong knowledge of prepress, ideally in flexo and digital printing environment * Strong attention to detail * Strong MAC skills * Knowledge of package design principles * A competent level in the Adobe Illustrator, Esko artpro would be an advantage but training can be given. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills You will need at least 3 years of pre-press and/or graphic design experience, working with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Artpro, Artpro+ and Photoshop) and work in a print production environment for a label or packaging company.
