To support our 2020 growth agenda we have a great opportunity for a Depot General Manager to manage a new Depot that we are opening near Wakefield . The role will be accountable for 100+ heads, a multi-million operating budget and a transport function with a large fleet of commercial vehicles. This position is initially on a 1yr Fixed Term Contract but there is the potential for it to become a permanent position. You will be responsible for leading the team, operational management, financial control, compliance, safety all whilst driving a continuous improvement agenda that allows us to continually strive towards making Hermes a great place to work. In addition to your team, you'll be joining a team of 26 Logistics professionals who are responsible for managing our Depot network across the country. This position is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference and be responsible for positive change. Improved and more efficient ways of working are encouraged. Experience/Qualifications: * Management experience of leading and managing a team * Experience of managing operational budgets and targets * Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines * PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office * An understanding of Transport regulations * Good communicator and able to liaise at all levels * Flexible approach to work to meet business requirements Responsibilities: * Manage a team of 4 Direct Reports and a team of up to 100 indirect reports providing leadership and direction for the shift * Ensure Depot meets client SLA's and budgetary targets * Ensure compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations * Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables Benefits: * Company Car or Car Allowance * 26 Days Holiday entitlement + Bank Holidays * Opt in benefits "To all recruitment agencies: Hermes does not accept agency resumes.
