Procurement Category Manager - Castings & Fabrication JOB SUMMARY This position's primary purpose is to manage the Castings commodities team for Celeros Flow Technology. This includes strategic commodity implementation, cost savings initiatives and monitoring of supplier performance improvements. This position has global responsibility for Celeros Flow Technology's supply chain. This position also works closely with the global leader of the Supplier Quality/Development organization with operational development strategies, goals and plans. This person will provide guidance across the organization to ensure foundries are capable and meeting all requirements. Key objectives include increasing LCC/BCR utilization and supplier consolidation. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage the Castings commodity strategy and team for Celeros Flow Technology. This will be the global strategy. * Locates capable foundries for supply of goods & services in conformance with company requirements. * Work closely with engineering supporting VA / VE for cast products. * Competitively bids and negotiates pricing and terms for managed categories. * Ensures compliance with purchasing rules and company compliance policies. * Develops and manages Should Cost Models and Material Market data that impacts pricing and annual forecasts. * Manages supplier performance and business review process with Preferred Suppliers to ensure high quality, on-time, and cost-effective supply of goods & services. * Ensures critical deliveries are expedited. * Resolves vendor grievances and claims against suppliers. * Manages supply chain performance metrics for motors / drives suppliers like sourcing savings, supplier delivery performance, supplier quality performance for continuous improvement. * Manages Business Review meetings for Preferred Suppliers. * Monitor, manage and report key metrics including but not limited to supplier quality, supplier on-time delivery and supplier responsiveness. * Use analytical tools (e.g. supplier segmentation, D&B Supplier Risk Manager, performance scorecards, etc.) to prioritize suppliers for management and development. * Coordinate annual supplier conferences to exchange information. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Good leadership, coaching, communication and interpersonal skills * Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques and related standards and specifications * Detailed manufacturing knowledge of castings, forgings, fabrication and machining. * Strong knowledge of supply chain management required * Strong negotiations and contract management skills * Strong collaboration and communication skills. * Highly proficient in Microsoft applications: PowerPoint, Excel and Word. * Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding * Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills * Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy * Working knowledge of supply chain, material management and plant manufacturing processes and systems, including MRP, quality management systems, and production planning and scheduling * Working knowledge of lean manufacturing processes EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management * 10 years of experience in Category/Commodity Management Leadership in a manufacturing company * Rotating Equipment and ETO experience a plus * Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
