Job Description

Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit and General Critical Care Unit have merged. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit and the General Critical Unit University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry for the position of experienced Band 5 registered nurse. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to rotate between the two units Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit is a 16 bedded combined Intensive Care Unit and a High Dependency Unit. The department cares for patients that have undergone cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery. They also care for Major Trauma and general surgical patients. The department takes a Multidisciplinary Team approach to the care and management of patients. General Critical Care Unit is a 30 bedded combined Intensive Care Unit and a High Dependency Unit. The department cares for patients from the following specialties; Major Trauma, Neurosurgery, General Surgery and Medicine. The department takes a Multidisciplinary Team approach to care and management of patients. We are looking for dynamic, focused, strong and flexible Nurses to join the General Critical Care and help us continually improve and change the unit to meet the needs of the patients that we care for. You must have the ability to create and sustain a culture of positivity, where staff are supported & developed. You will work closely with the Matron and the senior nursing team to support excellence in the department. We are seeking applicants for Band 5 posts from Registered Nurses who have prior experience in either a high dependency/intensive care setting or an acute setting to join our motivated, friendly and supportive team. If successful, you will be fully supported in your new role both through mentorship from our experienced team and through our Critical Care Training and Development Team. Competencies will be provided to support your development. Once completed, and you are established within your role there are further opportunities for professional development.
