As Head of Haulage, you'll lead our transport operation through our digital transformation with a remit to provide an outstanding customer experience, continuous refinement of cost control measures and overall legal compliance for the function. You'll lead a team of circa 170 people consisting of our 150 driver community, Transport Managers, Transport Supervisors, Fleet Manager and Fleet Coordinator. You'll also manage the relationship with our 3rd party haulage partner and various subcontractors. Your role will include but not be limited to: - * Actions to increase driver engagement and ingrain improved driver behaviours. * Maintaining and improving customer experience (NPS) results, with a focus on punctuality. * Meeting the requirements to develop our FORS accreditation (currently bronze) and other accreditations. * Negotiation of commercially viable terms with maintenance providers and fleet companies. * Building strong relationships with all business units and their respective commercial teams. * Compliance responsibility for our fleet of trucks, vans and cars. * Working with the QHSE team to manage work related road risk across the business, developing programmes to monitor and reduce risk. About you * Extensive transport operations leadership experience within a large, multi-drop operation with a team who have end-user/customer contact at point of delivery. * A track record of implementing change that delivers tangible commercial results. * The ability to think strategically, execute effectively, and maintain high levels of energy and commitment. * Holder of a full driving licence and be willing to travel throughout the UK.
