Job Description

Overall Objective To join a dynamic fundraising team to assist with projects and activity to help achieve the annual targeted budget specifically through assisting our events programme. This role is varied, fast paced and has scope for development. The role will support the Events Team in delivering high quality events, designed to both raise funds but also recruit individual and family supporters to the organisation. This role also forms part of the charity's growth programme to recruit new supporters through new and existing methods as well as supporting the creation of new fundraising events and partnerships. Position in Organisation * Reports to the Events Fundraising Officer * Liaises at all levels inside the organisation * Relates to volunteers, individuals and groups * Key relationships with fundraising, marketing, IT and admin teams * External facing to public supporters Scope of Role * Based in Head Office Liverpool but working on projects across Liverpool and outside the North West. * Working within a fast-moving environment with changing priorities and able to work on several projects at any one time. * Manage all aspects of Spring Trail and Santa Sing-a-long taking full responsibility for both events which are Liverpool based family events. * Working as a motivated, positive and effective member of the fundraising team. * To research potential venues, suppliers, sponsors and participants. * To assist in arranging meetings, build relationships and sell event concepts and involvement opportunities to prospective individuals and companies * Proposing new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process is a key aspect of this role. Assist with managing on site production and clean-up for events as necessary. * Offer excellent donor care and customer service to volunteers, groups and associations, beneficiary events and individuals * Dealing with supporter and supplier enquiries and providing excellent customer service and administration * Events support and assistance and attendance at all times, including out of hours work. * Adhere to the highest standards of fundraising best practice as set out in the Institute of Fundraising's Codes of Practice and ensure that all activities comply fully with the relevant Data Protection obligations and any other legislation. * To assist in other areas across the team as and when needed undertaking duties as required by the line manager commensurate with the post Person Specification Education / qualifications / knowledge * Numerate and literate, preferably educated to at least A level standard * Knowledge of the principles of good donor management or customer care * Understands principles of relationship building * Experience of working effectively with others towards common goals and targets Experience * Experience of working in events in a paid capacity * Experience of working with volunteers and/or community groups * Administration experience Skills and Abilities · Excellent customer service skills * Able to work on own initiative * Time management and prioritisation skills * Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time * Ability to work under pressure * Excellent time management skills * Ability to write copy for presentation documents, letters and website use * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and databases * Driving licence Personal Qualities · Self-starter, motivated and positive * Driven to succeed and innovative * Target driven * Able to show empathy for people or families living with lung cancer or bereaved * Enjoys working as part of a team and sharing success * Able to work evenings and weekends and required * Prepared to travel throughout the geographical area identified as required
