Architect (Norwich or Cambridge) 40k - 55k competitive salaries and benefits commensurate with experience, wide bonus package and fantastic opportunity for career progression. The Company Our Client is a leading provider of agency, professional and consultancy services across the whole range of rural, commercial and residential property, agriculture and the environment. From a growing network of offices throughout East Anglia, the Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber region as well as internationally, they combine a high level of specialist technical expertise with experience and local knowledge. Due to expansion, they require a Head of Masterplanning to join their Architectural and Planning department in their Norwich or Cambridge office. As part of a broader larger business, the division currently consists of 27 staff across three offices, with aspirations to develop their teams to provide the best possible project work for their clients. They have a mixed offering professionally; with Architects, Urban Designers and Planners. This individual would lead the Masterplanning and Urban Design staff and project work, be jointly responsible for divisional growth and be required to develop new opportunities for the business. The role would include a position within the divisions senior management team, with a view to being involved in the wider office management and indeed progression through to Partnership. The Role The team currently has a number of locally and regionally significant developments along with a series of strategic clients and projects. This role and the wider aim of the division is to develop and grow this work. This role would have two core objectives. 1. Deliver high quality, innovative and thought leading professional work on their existing schemes. 2. Develop profitable growth of the Masterplanning and urban design element of the division through developing new work, clients and projects. Alongside these key objectives will be a need to think laterally and strategically about not just their own work, but also that of the wider business. The ideal candidate will have: RIBA / RTPI chartered membership preferred but not essential. Ideally have prior exposure to major planning projects, particularly residential schemes. Strategic thinking with strong design and presentation abilities. Personnel and Business management experience. Business development experience and knowledge. Rural and semi-rural development experience. Knowledge of Local Plan and NPPF structure and process. Full UK driving licence.
