Job Description
About the role As a Database Administrator at Paymentshield you will be designing and administering the physical implementation and maintenance of databases so that the right person can get the right information at the right time. Reporting to the Head of MI, you will support the seamless flow of information throughout the business, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users, ensuring the efficient operation of PSL's information systems You will work on multiple priorities within a fast paced, dynamic environment and will need to be able to manage the expectations of stakeholders alongside prioritising your workload. You will play your part to meet the broader needs of the business and deliver a world class MI experience for our stakeholders. Working collaboratively to fulfil the ambitions of the business and the MI department, you will have every chance to make a real impact and quickly see the results. About you You're curious, logical and a problem solver by nature with a keen eye for detail. You have proven experience of SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL, SQL Server security admin, troubleshooting, and SQL Server performance monitoring and tuning. Experience of working in a regulated financial services environment would be advantageous but is not essential. We're also interested in your softer skills - your ability to question, query, and analyse. The way you build great relationships and work with challenging stakeholders, along with the ability to solve complex problems and communicate solutions in a simple, clear and concise way. Working at pace with competing and changing priorities doesn't faze you and you're not afraid to challenge the status quo. There is very little hierarchy here and if you were to join us, you would be expected to have a voice and the confidence to use it.
